Unanimously, Valais deputies agreed to increase by 5.44 million francs the part of cantonal subsidy linked to the various safety works of the Dranse. These particularly concern the territory of the city of Martigny.

(Keystone-ATS) The various overflows of the Rhône and its tributaries for 25 years have pushed the cantonal and municipal authorities to invest massively in terms of security. Various works have been carried out in many localities between Goms and Saint-Gingolph.

The first phase of the work cost 3 million francs more than expected. She had notably consisted in creating a filtering dam in Martigny-Combe. The provisional additional cost of the second part of the work is currently 3.4 million francs. This concerns the Bâtiaz bridge and the Martigny crossing with a lowering of the bed and an enhancement of the adjacent walls.
