The regional academies of Fès-Meknès, Béni Mellal-Khénifra and Casablanca-Settat were distinguished by winning the titles of the two categories: “Sport d’Elite” (U15 and U18) and “Sport pour tous” (U15 and U18).
In the “Sport for all” category, the title U18 was won by the Lycée qualifying Ibn Khaldoun, under the provincial Directorate of education in Fez, attached to the Fès-Meknès Academy, while the title U15 returned to the Sidi El-Hadri college, under the provincial management of Fquih Ben Salah, Mellal-Khénifra.
In the “Elite sport” category, the title U18 was won by the provincial management team of Fès (Fès-Meknès Academy), while the title U15 was awarded to the provincial management team of Al-Fida Mers Sultan (Casablanca-Settat Academy).
The closing ceremony of this sporting event, organized by the Ministry of National Education, preschool and sports, in cooperation with the Royal Moroccan School Sports Federation (FRMSS) and in coordination with the Regional Academy of Education and Training of Guelmim-Oued Noun, was marked by the delivery of cuts and medals to the teams and players in the various competitions in the championship.
Tributes have also been paid to educational, sports and associative actors in recognition of their contribution to the promotion of school sport in the region.
In a statement to the press, the director of the promotion of school sport within the ministry, Abdessalam Milita, indicated that this year’s edition was distinguished by the organization of two competitions: one reserved for students affiliated with clubs or “Studies and Sport” sectors, and the other open to students not affiliated with clubs or sports federations, for a concern for territorial equity and democratization of the national championships.
Mr. Mili, who is also a deputy president of the FRMSS, added that this championship constitutes an opportunity to discover new talents that will enrich national sport, adding that parallel cultural and environmental activities have been organized for the benefit of students.
For his part, the director of the Regional Academy of Guelmim-Oued Noun, Abdelmajid Sahl, noted that this championship which aims to expand sports participation, in particular among girls, is part of the 2022-2026 roadmap aimed at increasing the number of beneficiaries of parallel and sporting activities in the education sector.
Note that this sporting event, organized in the omnisport room covered with Guelmim, under the slogan “School sport for fulfilled and efficient students”, brought together more than 210 students from various regional academies across the kingdom, representing the qualified teams at the end of the regional championships.
