Jacques Commers (Director of performance and French teams) : “In addition to being shortened, the preparation of the French women’s team will have to adapt to availability, now unknown, of a certain number of players. Jean-Aimé Toupane and his staff therefore composed an extended group of 25 players, capable of preparing for the competition while keeping the possibility of integrating several players through the preparation. These new adaptations should not however slow down our performance ambitions for Euro 2025, carried by the beautiful dynamic lived during the Paris 2024 Olympic Games ”.
Jean-Aimé Toupane (coach of the French women’s team) : “Although the preparation time for Euro 2025 is shorter, we decided to announce an extended group of 25 players for the first rally in Reims. Indeed, while protecting ourselves any injuries at the end of the championships, we know that we will have to be adaptation with the constraints linked to the WNBA. Several players engaged in this league will have the opportunity to join us as and when internships; The fact of preparing with an extended group, young and talented, will allow us to have a high level of intensity and commitment during the month of preparation and to approach the competition I hope in the best possible conditions to achieve our objectives ”.
