These hooligans were guilty of several assaults on passers -by but also vandalism against shops. These acts have a racist and Islamophobic character which seems proven. They went to Molenbeek, a district that houses an important Muslim community in the Belgian capital, to commit them.

They also took several young people from this district. The latter replied and injured several of their attackers. Despite their actions, some hooligans were rescued by residents of Molenbeek who brought them water.

The police announced the arrest of around sixty individuals related to these events. The club saw its victory (2-1) and its title tarnished by these “alleged supporters”. The Bruges club therefore condemned these actions in a statement and announced that it will help the police “to identify the people involved”.

The North Fanatics 13, a group of ultras from the Bruges club known for its far-right positions (they had notably been identified in the process of making Nazi greetings), are suspected of being responsible for these facts. Jean-Michel de Waele, a specialist in hooliganism, was surprised on RTL Info of the lack of police presence despite a well identified threat.
