From May 11, it will be once again from the Prairie du Pont-Canal that free initiations to multiple sports will take place. Alain Klajman, in charge of sports at the town hall of Agen, details the organization: “The supervisors of the climbing club, the climbers of the Agen, will bring back a block about eight meters high. In the past, climbing practitioners had access to the cliff located in Boé to train”.
From Gaelic football to the Basque ball
This 5th edition is under the sign of European sports. For the first time since the creation of the “Sundays of the Prairie”, the Basque pelota will be honored on Sunday June 22, the day after the Music Festival. Another unprecedented sport during these initiation Sundays, the Agen will be able to try Gaelic football. The Club Agenais Sua Table Table will offer an initiation on Mother’s Day on Sunday May 25. Mr. Klajman reveals behind the scenes of the sports selection method: “We send an invitation to each club, a sports association and we choose them according to their response”. “Thanks to the sponsorship of the Spanish city of Toledo, Agen was able to obtain the European city label of sport 2025, valid for life,” says the latter.
