The French Football Federation (FFF) announced on Thursday a future partnership with the Ministry of the Interior and the National Police in order to better protect amateur and professional referees, more threatened on and outside the field.
“We have experienced completely inappropriate behavior in Ligue 1 and Ligue 2 in recent months, and violence in the amateur world,” said Philippe Diallo, president of the FFF.
“Refeating referees” had to be decided and “anxiety” grows in the arbitral body, he reported.
“We have dialogued with the Ministry of the Interior, the FFF will collaborate with the police as part of a national convention,” said Philippe Diallo.

The “arsenal” will notably consist of the inclusion of threatened referees or sensitive matches in the Pegasus II file – Protective program enjoyed certain personalities -, monitoring devices for their homes and workplaces, a specific police call button, and training in the safer use of social networks.
In addition, Philippe Diallo asked the boss of French arbitration Antony Gautier to reflect on new recommendations, such as sanctions and reinforced legal proceedings for attackers or the test of on -board cameras. A report will be rendered on May 12.
Several sockets have taken place in Ligue 1 in recent months.
