Senegal is preparing for a decisive face-to-face with Belarus this Saturday, as part of the semi-finals of the Beach Soccer World Cup organized in Seychelles, on the sand of Paradise Arena.
After a victory torn off in extensions against Italy (4-3) in the quarter-final, the beach lions are determined to take their revenge on an opponent who had beat them during the previous edition.
Indeed, in February 2024 in Dubai, the African champions began their tournament with a defeat against the Belarusses (4-6) on the first day of the C group. This disappointment had contributed to their elimination from the group stage, while Belarus had finished fourth in the tournament.
-For this second semi-final of their history in the World Cup, the men of Oumar Ngalla Sylla dream of a first qualification in the final. Alongside them, Mamour Diagne and his teammates intend to write a new page of the Senegalese Beach Soccer.
But the obstacle is size: Belarus, strong from its impressive career, has dismissed Iran in the quarter -finals and will be based in particular on its star attacker, Ihar Bryshtsel. The player scored 8 goals in the direct elimination matches of this edition and already totals 23 goals in just 13 games.
In the other semi-final, Brazil, holding the title, will face Portugal. The Brazilians dominated Spain 6-0, while the Portuguese won their qualification by beating Japan on the tight score of 7-6.
