
Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko attended this Thursday morning at the lifting ceremony of the body of Commander Pape Mignane Ndong, his camp assistance, who died last Tuesday. A ceremony full of solemnity and emotion was held in the presence of the high military hierarchy, members of the government, relatives and many compatriots who came to salute the memory of a man of duty.
On behalf of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar Faye, supreme chief of the armies, the Prime Minister raised the deceased to the rank of knight in the national order of the lion, a distinction which crosses a career marked by dedication, discipline and the meaning of public service.
The national army, through a sober and worthy military ceremony, returned the honors to Commander Ndong, welcoming the memory of an accomplished officer, respected both for his human qualities and for his professional commitment.
