For the Tabaski 2025 festival, the needs of the Ziguinchor region in sheep are estimated at 25 thousand heads.

This is what emerged from the Regional Development Committee (CRD) on the preparations for Tabaski 2025, chaired on by Alsény Bangoura, assistant to the governor of the Ziguinchor region in charge of development.

“The request for the Tabaski 2025 is estimated at 25 thousand sheep. The same support measures of 2024 are renewed for the 2025 event. We are in this dynamic and an action plan has been put in place to follow the necessary steps, “said Mouhamed Moustapha Sarr, regional director of breeding and animal productions of Ziguinchor.
The three official sales sites will be resumed, a site in each of the three departments of the region.

Regarding the assessment of the organization of the Tabaski 2024, the assistant to the governor says: “Overall, we are delighted with the results achieved in terms of organization, device, support, especially breeders. Compared to 2023, there was an increase in relation to the number of heads received in the region. We have taken up the same device while trying to improve it. ” This is the development of points of sale with the opening of a point in Ossouye, as was the case year. The administration will support breeders so that there are water points, lighting with local authorities, livestock food, and even the financing of financial institutions, so that this operation can take place in the conditions.
