Faced with the fall in prices of certain speculations such as eggplant and tomato in the Niayes area, producers the authorities and demand emergency measures. A meeting was held this , May 4 in Darou Ndoye, in the department of Tivaouane.

The Niayes area, known for its agricultural vocation, is going through a difficult period. Producers in the region observe a fall in prices on several speculations, compromising the profitability of their activities.

The eggplant, the kilogram of which was recently sold at 250 FCFA, is now sold at only 20 FCFA. The tomato experiences the same trend, accentuating the distress of gardeners.

This Sunday, May 4, the actors of the rural met in Darou Ndoye in the department of Tivaouane to discuss this crisis.

Around President Nadjirou Sall, important figures of the National Council for Rural Concertation and Cooperation (CNCR) such as Dieri Gaye, Pathé Dia, Ibrahima Mbengue and Alioune Badarague have exchanged with local producers.

The CNCR is committed to supporting producers through the follow -up committee.

He also announced the holding of a meeting with the competent authorities and will share a synthetic document on the event of May 4.
