The women of Touba, members of the subsection of the association of merchants and industrialists in Senegal (Opinion), claim that professional success should not be an obstacle to the effective management of their home. To this end, they organized, last Saturday, an awareness conference on this subject.
Touba-A woman must be able to reconcile her work and the management of her home. This is the conviction of women in the Touba subsection of the Association of Traders and Industrialists in Senegal (ACIS). During a conference held last Saturday, they made their sisters aware of this important question.
The meeting was held at the amphitheater of the University Cheikh Ahmadoul Khadim (Ucak) in Touba. Gana Mésséré, eminent speaker Mouride, has long debated the art of harmonizing work and domestic responsibilities for women, in the light of the principles of Islam.
A subject that resonates strongly today, according to Astou Dieng, communication manager for women of ACIS Touba. “Our goal is to direct our sisters to a positive path by encouraging them to respect the recommendations of their husbands,” she said. According to her, like work, household chores must occupy a preponderant place in the life of a woman. This is why, she stressed the importance of this public conference, which brought together many women in the religious city of Touba. “We have to reconcile both,” he continued, encouraging all women to embrace this path.
This platform also allowed these merchant and industrial women to publicize their organization, who, according to Ms. Dieng, is still unknown to the general public. “The ACIS women’s movement is not yet recognized in the city. This is why we take this opportunity to expand our visibility, ”she explains.
Necoizing the step in Astou Dieng, Yacine Diop, president of women of the Acis Touba subsection, addressed requests to the competent authorities. “We want to obtain funding. We are laborious women, but we encounter financial difficulties, ”she said.
In this regard, it is addressed to the delegate of DER/DJ by declaring: “The women of Touba reach out to the Der. She urges Ms. Aïssatou Mbodji to be inspired by ACIS, who, according to her, has managed to mobilize funding for the benefit of the women of Touba.
