The return to Federal 1 of Gujani rugby players was successful and the objective set at the start of the season successfully reached by the group and its staff. After an unfortunate experience two seasons earlier, the group, to whom some promised hell was able to take up the challenge.
From the start of the competition, the barbots affirmed their intentions by settling in the first lines of the ranking, until the truce of the confectioners. The second half of the season was more difficult for a group lessened by injuries. It is in the difficulty that the collective asserted itself to resist valiantly, while the maintenance was almost assured.
At the end of a very disputed season, faced with quality teams, the Gujanais ensured a deserved place in Federal 1. It is the culmination of a year of work, of mobilization of the whole club and its supporters around their team.
The coach staff stop
The next season will start without the trio of coaches, Jean-Marc Lanne-Petit, Thierry Gonzalez and Bertrand Boisserie, who have also experienced intense moments of emotions all season.
“I stop for personal reasons, now it is priority to family life from where I was too absent,” explains Thierry Gonzalez. After playing and trained Labouheyre, he arrived after the descent of Federal 1 at the request of Jean-Marc Lanne-Petit. “We have lived an exceptional federal 2 season for the club and the rise in Federal 1,” he says.

“The beautiful story of a family club”
Bertrand Boisserie says it needs to blow and recharge your batteries. After two seasons on the reserve bench and one on that of the pennant team, he retains the level of engagement and loyalty to a gaming philosophy. “I am proud to have participated in the beautiful story of a family club. It is a beautiful step that I lived alongside the ” Druid ” (Jean-Marc Lanne-Petit). It is a benchmark for training. I came to rub shoulders with him, I had the chance to work with him ”.
When Jean-Marc Lanne-Petit arrived in Gujan, the club was playing in honor. In six seasons he hoisted it in Federal 1 before retiring and returning to the request of President Charles Couradjut. The first experience at this level was painful, the rest, everyone knows it.
The club ensures its maintenance by following the manager’s guideline that has not varied an iota. Create a strong game identity based on young players forming a very united group to have fun and give it. An alchemy that has perfectly succeeded.
