Rugby. The good progression of Bobby Bissu with the hopes of the UBB

Trained in XIII rugby in Toulouse, Bobby Bissu, the third 18 -year -old center line, quickly won in the UBB hopes pack. As the co-co-coach Richard Darrambid points out: “He is one of the players who progressed the most of the season. Always attentive, very respectful and serious, he applies everything that is taught to him. It has an extraordinary ability to move forward and win its duels and is promised to a bright future ”. The player quickly assimilated the specifics of XV rugby while keeping his qualities of the 13th century: “At 16, I felt the need to come to Bordeaux to continue to progress. I knew that the 2006 generation was beautiful, so the sporting challenge was interesting, ”he explains.

The athlete of 1.89 m for 108 kg has crossed at high speed all obstacles: “I did not think I play as much with the hopes, so I had accepted a tutoring with Floirac. In XIII, I played Center, a position that requires doing a lot of long high intensity races, to put a lot of speed because there are a lot of space and especially to play standing. Julien Antonin, then Frédéric Garcia and the Espoirs staff guided me to adapt my game to XV and I landed at the third line center. »»

Ambitions

Bobby Bissu comes out of three selections in the French team under 20 development. “At my post, I appreciate being the relay between forwards and three quarters. This allows me to lay my stone at the collective building between the fight of the forwards and the support of the rear lines. I just have to force myself to tackle low, because in XIII we take the players high to safe. »»

Very mobile on the ground, the student in clothing tailor and soon of cook, multiplies the off-loads, particularly in the last match against Brive: “The Correzians defeated us in the semi-final of the Crabos last year. So all 2006 of the team wanted their revenge. It allowed us to bring a little more to the team. We all live at the training center, so we have very strong links ”.

Very ambitious, the young hope wishes to settle permanently at the UBB: “My short -term goal is to go to the final with the hopes. If I project myself in two years, I would like to make matches with team 1. I am lucky to train with them for a few months. UBB is a club that surrounds its players well and allows me to evolve in confidence. »»
