In an internal investigation report, dating from mid-September, the French rugby federation questioned the members of the supervision of the U18s present during this rally, believing that they had been negligence. “The decision to organize a recovery session in the water on the beach of Dias Beach was taken without considering the dangerousness of the site,” she said in particular.
After this drama, the sports technical advisers of the U18 team were “suspended as a precaution” by the Ministry of Sports at the request of the FFR.
