In the absence of Tadej Pogačar, Jonas Vingegaard and Remco Evenepoel, two runners stand out as big favorites, followed by an armada of outsiders ready to grasp their luck on a demanding course.

Primož Roglič (Red Bull-organ-Hansgrohe):

Experience in the service of winning ambition in 2023 and with his recent at the Tour de Catalonia, Primož Roglič (35 years old) approaches the Giro with a of legitimate favorite. His versatility, his tactical sense and his experience of the great towers (five victories) make it a serious pretender.

Supported by a solid team with Jai Hindley and Daniel Felipe Martínez, the Slovenian excels in chronos and short ascents, but will have to manage the pressure in the face of a rival in full ascent.

Mikel Landa (Sudal Quick-Step), from his role as lieutenant, is betting on his regularity and his mountain ease. Antonio Tiberi (Bahrain Victorious), 5th in 2024, embodies the generation and aims a top 5.

Richard Carapaz (EF Education-Easypost), in 2019, and Egan Bernal (ineos grenadiers), in search of Renaissance, are formidable climbers on the alpine stages like the Cima Coppi (Finestre Cle

Simon Yates (Visma-Lease A Bike) and Derek Gee (-Prime Tech) could also surprise, just like David Gaudu (Groupama-FDJ), novice on the Giro but motivated.

For steps victories, Wout Van Aert (Visma-Lease A Bike) will be a constant threat thanks to its versatility, especially in the Gravel sectors of Siena and Punchy arrivals.

Sprinters like Kaden Groves (Alpecin-Deceuninck), Olav Kooij (Visma-Lease A Bike) and Mads Pedersen (Lidl-Trek) will compete for the Cyclamen jersey, in the absence of the double holding Jonathan .
