has announced the breakdown of its diplomatic relations with the Arab Emirates, recalling its diplomatic staff of Abu Dhabi. This decision stems from the accusations brought by Sudan which designates the Emirates as an “aggressive state”.

In a press release from the Sudanese Security and Defense Council, the United Arab Emirates are accused of supporting rapid support forces (FSR), a paramilitary group. The Council said that the assault of the United Arab Emirates against Sudan’s sovereignty and the security of its citizens has continued for more than two years.

This rupture comes after the decision of the International Court of Justice (CIJ) to reject the complaint of Sudan accusing Abu Dhabi of “complicity of genocide” in Darfur. The United Arab Emirates, for their part, dispute this accusation.

For the moment, no official reaction of the United Arab Emirates has been recorded following this Sudanese announcement. This information was overcome with an article on the site of our colleagues from Anadolu, translated by Mourad Belhaj.
