The Commission for Spatial Planning, Town Planning, Housing, Infrastructure and Transport of the National Assembly (ATUHIT), under the leadership of its president, Omar Sy, made a visit this Tuesday to the management of the great trains of Senegal. The major trains in Senegal have received a strong delegation of commission deputies (ATUHIT). At the end of this visit which will have lasted more than four clock towers, the president of the commission, Omar Sy, believes that the observation is final. “” For some time, this railway company has been completely stopped. He remains convinced, in concomitance with the TER, that for the interurban journey, the great trains of Senegal should be able to continue to exploit them to strengthen this territorial anchoring.
Furthermore, MP Omar Sy did not hide the difficulties facing GTS, including financial resources and equipment. He did not fail to underline the state of degradation of the trains due to the continuous immobility of the Express Dakar-Bamako train. “” The trains are in a slightly lamentable state if not operating. The director of the GTS, Matar Ba, is honored by this visit. He took advantage of these fruitful exchanges to explain the problems of the company, in particular the financial, technical situation, the blocking points of the activity. The director relies on the deputies to bring the fight on the revival of the entire rail subsector, in particular by the resumption of the activities of the GTS on the lines that exist. Matar Sy believes that GTS are developing programs between Touba and Ngabou, between Thiès and Tivaouane.
