Canding agreement between Houthis and the United States
The United States and Houthi rebels have agreed with a ceasefire. It is effective immediately.

Yemen Houthi rebels and the United States have agreed with a ceasefire, said Omani Foreign Affairs minister, Badr Al-Boussaïdishortly after Donald Trump announced the end of the American strikes against these insurgents supported by Iran.
“Following the recent discussions and contacts led by the Sultanate of Oman with the United States and the authorities concerned in Sanaa (…) The efforts led to a cease-fire agreement between the two parties,” said the Omani minister, adding that “in the future, neither of the two parties will target the other, including American ships, in the Red Sea and in Bab al-mandeb ”.
According to the Omani mediator, this cease-fire will “guarantee freedom of navigation and the fluidity of international maritime trade”. In the immediate future, no reaction from the Houthis could be obtained.
Attacks claimed by the Houthis
Affirming to act in solidarity with the Palestinians, the Houthis claimed dozens ofmissile and drone attacks against Israel Since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. They also attacked ships which they consider linked to Israel off Yemen, on an essential seaway for world trade.
In retaliation, the United States, under the chairmanship of Joe Biden, launched raids from rebels in Yemen. These strikes have been intensified since March 15, under the administration of Donald Trump.
-Bombing in Yemen
He announced earlier Tuesday that the Houthis had “capitulated” and promised that American bombing in Yemen would stop with “immediate effect”.
The announcement of the cease-fire intervened a few hours after Israeli air bombings that destroyed the Yemenite Capital International Airport Sanaa and left three dead according to the rebels.
Oman also plays the role of mediator between Washington and Tehran in the ongoing discussions on the Iranian nuclear file.
