The body of the 28-year-old jogger, Agathe Hilairet, disappeared almost a month ago around Vivonne, was found in an undergrowth.
The body of Agathe Hilairet was found this Sunday, May 4 in the afternoon, by a walker in an undergrowth near Vivonne. The 28 -year -old jogger disappeared on April 10 around the town of Vienne, when she left to run. The body found was in an “undergrowth on the outskirts of research zones”, as the Poitiers prosecutor’s office said on BFMTV on Monday.
Arrived on site, the gendarmes were able to identify the body. The parents of the young woman were immediately informed. It was her father who reported her disappearance on April 10, when she left to jog. For three weeks, the research had given nothing.
Residents in shock
A “shock”, as a resident of Vivonne on BFMTV points out. “There are lots of small paths everywhere in all directions, it can go very fast,” he adds.
“I hope that it is not a murder (…) is something, that here in Vivonne, in such a calm city, which we do not expect,” comments on BMFTV another resident of the commune of Vienne of almost 4,500 inhabitants.
On Poitou, Valérie, a mother, added: “It’s sad for the family, it must be very hard for them. When you have children, you are always afraid that something happens.”
The disappearance of Agathe Hilairet has strengthened the vigilance of the inhabitants. “Before, I liked walking in the evening, now I don’t want to go run alone. And I don’t let my little boy go to the bus stop which is less than 100 meters from our house,” said another Vivonnois on local radio.
The first autopsy was made on the body of the victim. At this stage, it did not allow the causes of the death of Agathe Hilairet, according to the Poitiers prosecutor’s office. No track is therefore excluded: neither the criminal thesis, nor that of the accident, even that of a suicide.
