The new Subaru Forester 2025 has a whole new equipment: an external inflatable cushion. He must deploy during a collision with a two-wheeler, in order to further protect the cyclist, especially at the level of his head.
A new outdoor airbag to protect cyclists
How does it work? This special airbag, U-shaped, is deployed along the windshield and the front part of the hood, including on the side amounts. “The system is deployed in a flash, from the base of the windshield to the famous pillars A”, very hard zones, details Neozone.
To do this, Subaru had to reinvent the equipment at the front of his vehicle, in order to integrate this cushion, which also resembles a bolts, capable of deploying so quickly that the cyclist will be protected in the event of an impact.
An innovation reserved for Japan
A technology that should not see the light of day in Europe. For the moment, this innovation is only available on Subaru Forester 2025, a vehicle that has not come to the old continent.
This new inflatable cushion is only offered on the models sold in Japan. It can then be deployed in North America.
