The price of coffee is stable on the market

Coffee prices on the internal market remain unchanged

Experts believe that if drought persists and the offer does not improve, coffee prices on the domestic market should probably maintain their dynamics up or at least remain high. However, the market remains very sensitive to developments and policies related to the climate of the main importing countries.
The prices of pepper remain stable in the highlands

In Dak Nong and Dak Lak, the prices of pepper remained high, stable at 156,000 VND/kg in the two localities.
Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) updated at 5:00 am on May 5, 2025 showed that the world pepper market continued to evolve laterally, without significant fluctuations compared to the previous session.

On the Malaysian market, pepper prices have remained unchanged, Asta black pepper being bought at $ 9,300/tonne and Asta white pepper being currently at $ 11,900/ton.
The Brazilian pepper market has not recorded a lot of fluctuations, the current price of pepper is 6,800 USD/ton.
Vietnam pepper export prices remain stable, with 500 g/l black pepper at $ 6,700/tonne, 550 g/l at $ 6,800/tonne and white pepper at $ 9,700/ton.
Due to the impact of long holidays, the internal pepper market mainly fluctuated last week between 154,000 and 156,000 VND/kg. Prices in Gia Lai decreased by 500 VND/kg, while the other areas remained unchanged. On the international market, pepper prices tend to fluctuate in opposite directions when Indonesia increases its prices, while Vietnam and Brazil adjust them downwards.
Data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) show that the price of Indonesian black lampung pepper increased by 3 % (equivalent to USD/tonne) compared to last week. Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper Asta 570 decreased by USD/tonne and the price of Vietnamese black pepper has also decreased by 100 USD/ton. The Malaysian market alone has not recorded any change during the week.
Also during the survey period, the Indonesian white pepper Muntok increased by 3.09% (or 298 USD/ton) compared to the previous week. On the other hand, the price of white pepper in Vietnam decreased slightly by 1.02 % (100 USD/ton), while the price of asta white pepper in Malaysia has remained unchanged.
The International Pepper Community (IPC) provides that global production of pepper in 2025 should decrease by more than 6 %, as many major pepper -producing regions in the world are affected by prolonged bad weather. Among these countries, India is expected to undergo the largest damage, with a decrease of around 25 %. In Vietnam, drought slowed down the progress of crops and has considerably reduced production.
In addition, pepper prices in the main exporting countries are higher than at the same time last year. This benefits farmers but exerts enormous pressure on the costs of importing countries and processing companies.
