MArtin Scorsese is preparing a documentary on Pope Francis entitled Aldeas – A New Story. The production company of the 82 -year -old Hollywood filmmaker, Sikelia Productions, works on this film with the Association for Education founded by the Sovereign Pontiff in 2013, Scholas Occurrent, and its branch of film production, Aldeas Scholas Films.

A third production company, Massive OWL Productions, also joined the project, which was described in an Instagram post published on 1is May as “the last dream of Pope Francis”. The Holy Father, who had succeeded Benoît XVI in 2013, died on April 21, 2025 at 88.
