A few months before his highly anticipated concert at Olympia, Rise of the Northstar unveils a new powerful single entitled Neo Parisaccompanied by a clip mixing animation and reality. The group once again confirms its singularity and its attachment to French identity in a globalized musical landscape.
An abrasive tribute to Paris and Japanese influence
Rise of the Northstar is back with Neo Parisan unprecedented piece that strikes hard. Mushing modern metal, hardcore and Japanese culture, this new title pays a vibrant – but uncompromising – tribute to the Light City. Mixture of incisive groove, sharp riffs and animated visuals, the clip marks a first for the group, as explained Vichia (song): “This is the first time that we have incorporated animation into one of our clips, it is obvious for a group like us and in 2025 the planets have finally lined up.”
Made with the aesthetics specific to the group, the clip illustrates the will of Rise of the Northstar to create a bridge between manga fiction and urban reality: “I have always tried to create a bridge between the fiction of our references and the reality of our lives in my lyrics, Neo Paris is the visual and thematic incarnation. ”
Mixed and mastered by Florent Salfati (singer of Landmvrks), the song aims to be the first act of a new chapter for Rotn. A logical step after the album Showdownreleased in April 2023, which had already redefined the contours of French metal with a unique sound and visual identity.
Paris, between myth and reality: the vision of Rise of the Northstar
Beyond its musical efficiency, Neo Paris offers a reflection on the fantasized image of the capital. Vichia specifies: “‘It’s violent and it’s beautiful’ was the grip of the arrival ofAkira And of its Neo Tokyo in France in 1991. No other territory was more marked by the manga phenomenon and japanimation than France. And it was with this idea in mind that we composed Neo Paris.”
