A granddaughter was found on Saturday April 26, in a wooded area in the Belgian town of Pecq. French police relayed the call for witnesses to find the child’s mother.
On Saturday April 26, a little girl, barely a few weeks old, was found alone on a towpath bordering the Scheldt canal, in Warcoing, in the Belgian commune of Pecq. Wrapped in a clear blanket, dressed in beige clothing, the child was abandoned but in good health, reports The Parisian.
According to Belgian police, she was filed there between midnight and 4:30 p.m. A call for witnesses was launched to find anyone who saw one or more individuals in this area that day. The mother of the child is also called to make herself known, just like anyone likely to know it.
The little girl was taken care of
Due to the proximity to the border, just a few kilometers from Roubaix, Tourcoing and Lille (North), the French authorities relayed the call, considering that the mother can be on the French side.
According to the first elements, the child is of Caucasian origin and was not injured. It was taken care of by the child protection services.
