The 2025 Moto2 season is marked by an intense struggle between two advanced teams: Fantic Racing (Aron Canet and Barry Baltus) and Intactgp (Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius). After five rounds, these two structures dominate the top of the ranking, both among the pilots and in the team championship, and the dynamics promise an exciting duel until the end of the season.
After the Spanish GP, disputed in Jerez, Manuel Gonzalez (Intactgp) took over the championship with 86 points, with two victories, in Thailand and Spain and four podiums in five races. It is illustrated by impressive regularity and an ability to perform both qualification and race, since it also won four of the five poles in play this year.
Behind, his teammate Senna Agius has established himself as one of the most promising pilots of the season, already the author of two podiums, in Thailand and in Spain too. Currently seventh general, he greatly helps his teammate to collect important points for the team, which will be necessary to fight against Fantic Racing, or the two pilots have also already found their marks.
In the Italian team, Aron Canet occupies second place in the championship with 79 points. The Spaniard has already won a race, in Qatar, and accumulates three podiums in five rounds, confirming his status as a serious pretender to the title. His start to the season was marked by a panache victory in Losail, after going back from 15th place. His eighth place in Jerez shows, however, that he can from time to time being in difficulty.
On the other side of the garage, Barry Baltus, crossed a CAP this year by going on his first podium of the year in Jerez (2nd), after having regularly finished in the top 6. He now points fourth in the championship with 53 points, and continues to gain strength with a team he discovers, after a 2024 season mixed with the RW Racing GP team.
-An intense struggle between the two Moto2 teams
The two teams each have their strengths, and the firm intention to win the team championship. The struggle therefore promises to be intense in Moto2, and may be worth it.
Intactgp is distinguished by the consistency of Gonzalez, who has never left the top 3 except for a race, in Austin, where he made a strategic error on a wet track. Fantic Racing, for its part, capitalizes on the experience and speed of Canet, reigning vice-champion, and on the regular progression of Baltus, capable of grasping opportunities to score big points.
Currently, it is Fantic Racing who leads the dance with 132 points on the clock. Intactgp, for its part, has already garnered 123 units after five rounds, handicapped by a white result during the GP of the Americas, when its rivals scored 22 points.
