The US L’Isle-Jourdain will find Céret, an old acquaintance, in the round of 16 of the Federal Championship 1. The first round is set this Sunday, May 4, at 3 p.m., in Catalan land.
While the hopes of the US L’Isle-Jourdain will face the RC Tricastin in the finals which finished first in Pool 2, the Federal 1 will go to Céret (Pyrénées-Orientales), this Sunday, May 4 (3 p.m.). It is an opponent that the Lislois know well since the Catalans were also in pool 3. They finished in 5th place, far behind the USL, 1st with 85 points.

But Céret is not an opponent to take lightly. In the group stage, on the outward journey, the Cerertans had won 22 to 10 at home. The Gers had their revenge 21 to 13 on January 25 in Lapalu, but with a narrow score. The fault, in part, to a “cap” test of visitors during a first half missed by the foals of the Argentine-Aygobère duo.

The Catalans also showed their strong character by winning on the lawn of Montmélian (17-21) in the dam match. The Gascons will therefore have to put the blue from heating to run for a fourteenth positive result in a row. But it will not be easy at all. The return round is scheduled the following weekend in Fernand-Lapalu.
