kyiv and Washington sign a “memorandum of intention”

Washington and kyiv signed a “Memorandum of intention” aimed at concluding a complex agreement on access to natural resources and critical ores of Ukraine, announced a Ukrainian official. “We are pleased to announce the signing, with our American partners, of an intention protocol paving the way to an economic partnership agreement and the creation of the investment fund for the reconstruction of Ukraine”said on X Ioulia Svyrydenko, first vice-premier Ukrainian minister.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump said that an agreement on the exploitation of Ukraine strategic mineral resources would be signed “Next Thursday”. “We have an agreement on minerals which, I think, will be signed Thursday (…) next Thursday. Soon. And I guess they will respect the agreement. We will see. But we have an agreement on this point ”told journalists at the White House Donald Trump, who is asking for this agreement to compensate for the American aid already paid to kyiv to cope with the Russian invasion.
