The Swiss group MF Brands Group, owner in particular of Lacoste, Aigle and Gant, announced Thursday that it has finalized the sale of the accessible luxury brand The Kooples to a French industrial group, Verdoso.
“The Verdoso group, whose entrepreneurial approach and experience in business transformation and support are recognized, will now support The Kooples in its development,” the Swiss group said in a statement.
-In January, MF Brands Group (ex-Maus Brothers International) had declared that it wanted to “focus on activities corresponding to your DNA” (read our articile dedicated to the transfer). He has been held The Kooples since 2019.
The operation, the amount of which has not been revealed, gives way to the Verdoso group, specializing in investment in companies in difficulty, all activities related to the brand The Kooples.
The French brand, founded in Paris in 2008 by the three Elicha brothers, offers a range of luxury clothing and accessories accessible for women and men.
MF Brands Group is present in nearly 100 countries, through more than 2,400 shops and employs 12,000 people, according to its press release.
According to the same source, the Verdoso group “has taken control directly or indirectly by more than 30 companies” since its creation in 1997.
