(new York) Oscar -winning filmmaker and former Rolling Stone Cameron Cameron journalist will publish his memoirs on October 28, the Avid Reader Press publishing house announced on Thursday. They will be called The Uncool.

Crowe, 67, is known to have made films such as Jerry Maguire, Singles et Almost Famousa fictionalized adaptation of his teenager years as a collaborator for the magazine Rolling Stone In the 1970s, which earned him the Oscar for the best original script. Crowe is also the author of Conversations with Billy Wildera collection of interviews with the director Billy Wilder.
“I spent the last decade to re -examine these first subjects like (David) Bowie and Fleetwood Mac, Joni Mitchell and Led Zeppelin,” Crowe at the Associated Press told an email.
“Remembering their youth has brought out the same thing in me. The book is divided into two parts: the first is a personal memoir. The second will appear next year, with many new interviews. »»
According to Avid Reader, a subsidiary of Simon & Schuster, Crowe’s Memoirs will offer “a privileged entry in the 1970s”.
“He passes his adolescence to avoid the bars doors and refuse cocaine of truckers and rock stars,” read the publisher’s press release.
“He convinced his journalism teacher at San Diego City College to give him a course credit for his trip covering the tour of Led Zeppelin in 1975, which earned him, as well as the group, to make the cover of Rolling Stone.
