“The caravans arrived on Saturday evening at midnight on this relay car park. The city of Lausanne refuses this squatting,” the municipal in charge of Pierre-Antoine Hildbrand, returning to 24-hour information on Monday.
“We are awaiting the transformation into a criminal order of this situation by justice. This opens the way to a conviction, therefore to salty and dissuasive fines,” said Hildbrand who signed complaints and an expulsion order.
And to report that traveling people, from France and arrived from the view-alpes (NE), have moved concrete blocks to enter the field. In the early afternoon on Monday, seven caravans were still trying to force the passage by pulling these studs with towing strings.
These caravans from the view-of-Alpes had already been talked about in mid-April, when they had been blocked on the A9 motorway by the Valais cantonal police. Intercepted at Saint-Maurice, they had ended up turning back.
Already in 2023
“We are determined to enforce our right. The idea of obtaining advantages by force is inadmissible, all the more since the land will be used in June for the federal gymnastics festival,” continued the municipal.
For the record, some 130 caravans had settled in the Bourdonnette relay car park in March 2023, without prior authorization. They had stayed there for several months.
A legal proceedings are also currently underway for the expulsion of the Travelers present on the Rama site in Montheron, north of Lausanne, due to the non-compliance with the conditions set by the city.
