Four high schools, four colleges and seven primary schools of Pontivy (Morbihan), as well as two schools from Reginy and Radenac, will be present on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 10 a.m., on the plain, at the memorial ceremony memory.

“The more we , the more memory fades”

The objective is to associate as much as possible people with memory ceremonies for the transmission of history. It is important that young people get involved. The more we advance, the more memory fades.

Jean-Pierre Le Clainche, assistant in charge of the duty of memory

In order to prepare this ceremony of May 6, students from different colleges and high schools in Pontivy attended a presentation of the French Souvenir Association and were able to take an interest in the course of a commemorative ceremony.

“All students in the primary classes went to Réguiny to visit the museum Long sobs which traces the history of the Second World War, from a local and regional but also point of view. The name of the museum, Long sobsrefers to the messages coded between the BBC in London and the Resistance, ”recalls Cédric Josso, president of the French Souvenir Committee of the Pays de Pontivy.

“We carry the memory of veterans”

The fact that this ceremony is organized over school time, involves teachers and students.

We carry the memory of veterans. Our mission is to give them memory matter.
