Even if they have won their first three games, the roses will have to play a total of 28 – included playoffs – if they hope to be crowned champions of the inaugural season of the Northern Super League (SLN).
“We are three out of 28, so we are really at the very beginning, warned Captain Mégane Sauvé. So if we lose everything else, we will forget the three victories we had. The more success we are, the more the teams will want to beat us. It is more and more difficult. »»
However, Montrealers have every reason to approach this match with confidence. They successively defeated AFC Toronto, the Rise de Vancouver and the rapid Ottawa in three very different games of each other, finding a new way of winning each time.
The Tides de Halifax, for their part, will bring themselves in the metropolis on Saturday with a 0-2-0 sheet and a differential of goals scored by less-4. They nevertheless made enormous progress between their first 4-1 setback against the Wild of Calgary and that of 1-0 against the Rise.
“It’s going to be a tight match,” predicted saved. They will be very, very organized. We saw a difference in their game from the first in the second game. I think they will show an organized and tight defensive game, and we will try to go and play in there. But I am not too worried with the players we have at the offensive. »»
Mistrust is therefore in order, but the challenge is far from insurmountable, advised the head coach Robert Rositoiu. He also mentioned that he was not paying attention to the ranking at this stage of the season.

It’s going to be a difficult match. This is what I anticipate and the girls too it is a well -organized team that is able to hurt against. So it is important that we anticipate well when we attack and find the spaces when we build the game, because if we attract the opponent well and we manage to make them move well, we can really hurt anyone.

Changes to be expected
So far, Rositoiu has only made one change to her eleven leaving during the first three games: Gabrielle Lambert replaced Anne Karpenko in goals during the second while Ontarienne was retained at Harvard University as part of her studies.
The situation may well change on Saturday, since the club will then play a series of three games in eight days in the second half of May. Starting training could be different.
“We did not make the final decisions,” said Rositoiu. We go there one match at a time, but we still have three games in [huit] days that arrive after. We are going to need everyone and we don’t want to wait for us to need it to give the first minutes [à certaines joueuses].
“There are girls who deserve it and who strike the door, but it is difficult to remove players who deserve to play. This is why the decision is very difficult and that is why we still need to break our heads and debate in the group of coaches before I make the decision. »»
Indicating that we could also see faster changes during the match on Saturday to assess the players, Rositoiu added that one of the club’s objectives this season was to give a chance to assert itself to all the players.
«Where do you feel that [certaines joueuses] are a little more ready, but it is important that we continue to go to a good pace, said the pilot. Sometimes it’s good to throw them away [dans l’action] So that they can manage on the ground, in front of our supporters in addition. But at the same time, we have to take care not to rush them. »»
The organization will gladly accept youthful errors, according to Rositoiu, insofar as they allow the club to progress
“Hunt excellence, and accept imperfection, and we will miss,” summed up Rositoiu. Because the more we will take initiatives, the more we are going to make mistakes and we will encourage that. This means that we take the initiative – which is one of our pillars, especially when we have the ball. But we have to continue to improve in small details. »»
