The mobilization of support for the last two French hostages detained in Iran, Cécile Kohler and Jacques Paris, grew up. To mark the third anniversary of Iran’s arrest of the teacher, associate of modern letters from Soultz, Haut-Rhin, and her companion, thousands of people demonstrated in 45 cities in France this Wednesday. Place de la Nation in Paris, there were 300, among which Cécile’s parents and sister, but also the ancient hostages Benjamin Brière, Bernard Phelan and Olivier Rondeau.
“We are the crowd on which the Iranian government cannot shoot”
The latter, released on March 17 after two and a half years of captivity, made its first public appearance since its release of the jails of Evin prison, in Tehran. In French and Farsi, the young man said “Hope here and there”. “Let us not forget them, Cécile and Jacques, them that we do not see!” If there we want to make them invisible, here we have to see them everywhere, “insisted the ex-hostage in a poignant speech, in which he asked that the count of the captivity days of Cécile and Jacques-1,096 in number this May 7-appear every day on France Television.
“We are the crowd on which the Iranian government cannot shoot! The Iranian government is afraid that we describe torture, confessions under constraints, justice under orders he practices there … “And Olivier rumbles to describe the fate of Cécile and Jacques,” hostages, innocent, condemned without proof, sleeping in an enlightened cell, coming out forty-five minutes per week of their cell, knowing the same fate “. “We are the mirror that the Iranian government does not want to see at home,” metaphorized Olivier Rumbleau, revealing that several of his fellow prisoners, with whom he had established relationships of friendship in prison, were hanged by the authorities a few days ago.
The pain of Cécile’s family, who “no longer lives”
Previously, Cécile’s sister, Noémie Kohler, has expressed all the pain of her family, who has “not lived” for three years and is worried about increasingly harsh conditions of detention. In the aftermath of a spectacular operation in front of the Grids of the Iranian Embassy in Paris, the family thanked the French for their mobilization. During this rally, which noted in particular the former French ambassador to Tehran, the mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, announced that Cécile and Jacques will soon be made up to the capital of the capital.
After having discussed with Cécile’s family, Anne Hidalgo also recalled that all the hostages testify, when they are released, that mobilization movements are comfort for hostages that always learn it, even in prison … “We will tell him, during his next call … Even if each conversation, every two months, never lasts more than ten minutes, under surveillance,” promised Noémie Kohler.
