[VIDÉO] A cigarette megot would be at the origin of the fire on rue Durham

A triplex from rue Durham, north of Sherbrooke, was the prey of the flames on the night of Monday to Tuesday. According to communications from the city of Sherbrooke, a cigarette megot is the cause of the fire.

According to the Sherbrooke fire protection service, the fire broke out around 1:55 am outside the building, on a balcony. He then settled in the roof of the building.

The four residents of the place had to be evacuated, but no one was injured in the fire. A woman and her daughter must turn to the Red Cross, while the other two residents have found refuge with family members.

In total, around twenty firefighters were deployed to master the flames, which required a third alarm. These were checked shortly after.

The building is a total loss. When writing these lines, it is too early to assess the cost of damage.
