A triplex from rue Durham, north of Sherbrooke, was the prey of the flames on the night of Monday to Tuesday. According to communications from the city of Sherbrooke, a cigarette megot is the cause of the .

According to the Sherbrooke fire protection service, the fire broke out around 1:55 am outside the building, on a balcony. He then settled in the roof of the building.

The four residents of the place had to be evacuated, but no one was injured in the fire. A woman and her daughter must to the Red Cross, while the other two residents have refuge with members.

About twenty firefighters were to control the blaze.

In total, around twenty firefighters were deployed to master the flames, which required a third alarm. These were checked shortly after.
