The volunteers of the association “The friends of Romecourt” meet to repeat the Soyotte. This traditional Lorraine dance is the best known and most popular of Vosges folk dances.
After a few logistical adjustments, rehearsal can start. For these budding dancers, the key word is conviviality.
Soyotte is a Vosges folk dance. Its name is derived from the German verb ” the saying »(= scires). This etymology is explained by the arms movements of the dancers, analogous to those of the loggers. Siltotte is executed as a couple.
The friends of Romecourt is an association dedicated to the safeguard and the animation of the Château de Romecourt. Their mission is to preserve, promote and animate this historic treasure. This involves in particular the organization of cultural, artistic and educational events each year.
For its second edition, “Once upon a time there was a farm by Romecourt” transports visitors, to discover the rural life of yesteryear. This event, on May 9 and 10, reproduces the atmosphere of a reconstituted villagewhere artisans and ancient trades come to life before your eyes.
