An official book dedicated to Children of Bodom, told by the remaining members of the group, will appear next August. A highly anticipated publication that will retrace the whole history of the Finnish Melodic Death Metal training, from the point of view of its protagonists.
A work to celebrate the heritage of Children of Bodom
The book, edited by the British house Rocket 88, will offer an intimate dive behind the scenes of Children of Bodom, told directly by Henkka Seppälä (bass), Janne Wirman (keyboards), Jaska Raatikainen (drums), as well as guitarist Alexander Kuoppala. Former members, friends and close collaborators will also share their memories there. The Finnish author Timo Isoaho, close to the group, led the entire project.
In a joint press release, the musicians said: “Since we stopped music and we have lost our brother Alexi, we have redesigned at all the incredible moments that we have experienced together. You can now discover them in this book. He tells the full story of Children of Bodom, with our own words.
Available in two Deluxe editions, one of which is signed by the four aforementioned members, the work can be pre -ordered now on ChildrenofbodBook.com. The first buyers will even be able to see their name appear in a special section of the book.
A vibrant tribute to Alexi Laiho
This book also constitutes a poignant tribute to Alexi Laiho, singer, main guitarist and composer of the group, who died tragically in 2020. Major figure of modern metal, Alexi has deeply marked the scene by his flamboyant game, his scenic charisma and his influence on a whole generation of musicians.
His disappearance left a huge void in the Metal community. This project, approved by his family, returns with honesty to his lately tormented years, but also to the many artistic successes that marked the career of Children of Bodom, from his beginnings in 1993 to his final concert in Helsinki in 2019.
Between shared memories, unprecedented and backstage anecdotes of a group that has become cult, this work promises to be an essential testimony for fans, while enlightening the internal mechanisms of a group as influential as it is intense.
