The controversy aroused by its at the Agrion, a nightclub located in Lower Normandy, in the village of Ver (Manche), did not frighten the owners of the establishment, on the contrary. Jean-Luc Lahaye, scheduled in concert in the nightclub, was indeed authorized to perform there, this Saturday, April 26. A decision that did not please everyone: indeed several premises had demonstrated to protest against the presence in the artist’s town, indicted for rape on minor, condemned in 2007 for sexual involvement on minor and in 2015 for corruption of minor.

In the commentary of the local newspaper La Manche Libre, on Facebook, several Internet users have been offended: “So Bertrand Cantat should also be authorized then”, “next celebrities to come Gérard Depardieu and Pierre Palmade”, “A shame”, “he should be in jail”, “that he stops singing”, can be read in particular. “Anyway, it is a box of pervert. There are several people who have reported touching by adults who come to rub against girls,” said a woman.

But several other Internet users have defended the artist: “It was a great evening, no offense to the rage” could read, “Bravo to the Agrion it went super well. As what should nothing be let go when you are in your right” or “Thank you to the associations of Grinchy because without them I would not have known it and I would not have spent this great evening.”

The Night Box The Agrion for its part posted a message on its own Facebook page to defend Jean-Luc Lahaye: “The Agrion wishes to its sincere gratitude to feminist groups and the media for the immense attention to the arrival of Jean-Luc Lahaye. Thanks to their fierce mobilization, advertising was there-and even beyond our hopes! (…) Result: It should be remembered-no incident to report throughout the night.

The nightclub added that the artist “will return to the Agrion soon – that it is displeasing some!” and disabled the comments under its publication.

While Jean-Luc Lahaye must perform on June 14 at Cherrydon, a concert hall located near Marseille, the establishment has already posted a preventive message on its Facebook page, April 22: “Saturday June 14, the Cherrydon receives Jean-Luc Lahaye. Following this announcement, we receive positive messages of joy for fans and also abusive messages towards the artist and the Directorate of Cherrydon. Informed and asked us to make a report of each person lacking in respect. Case to follow.
