Like the movies of the saga The Lord of the Rings, The Hunt for Gollum will arrive at the cinema at the holiday season. Warner Bros has finally unveiled the official release date, which is therefore fixed at December 17, 2027 in the United States. The French date has not yet been communicated, but should logically be on December 15, 2027.
This will therefore be a Christmas present before the time for the many Tolkien fans, who hope to be able to find all the magic of the franchise created by Peter Jackson.
A familiar filmmaker with The Lord of the Rings realization
To make this new opus from the fantasy saga, the British Andy Serkis was selected. A choice far from surprising, the latter knowing Gollum better than anyone. For good reason, the 61 -year -old filmmaker and actor interpreted the little character in the two trilogies of Peter Jackson, namely The Lord of the Rings et The Hobbitand then specialized in motion capture.

Produced by Peter Jackson, Philippa Boyens and Fran Walsh, The Hunt for Gollum should respect the energy of previous films, while telling the story of one of the most iconic, but also the most enigmatic characters in the saga.
