Josh Harnett disappeared from radar screens in the mid -2000s, wanting to stop being a star, in particular by refusing the role of Superman. He then moved to England where he led a happy family life with actress Tamsin Egerton and their four children. But, despite this discretion, he has never stopped playing and it is found every year in the credits of a more or less obscure production, except for his work in the series Penny Dreadful and his small role in the Oppenheimer de Christopher Nolan.
Today, at 46, and after working with Guy Ritchie (The fury of a man in 2021 and Fortune operation: cunning of war in 2023), here it is in the main role of an action comedy, a sort of mixture between Machete (for blood) and Snakes on a Plane (for the plane), that is to say without tail or head.
Lucas Reyes (Josh Hartnett) is an agent brought to the index that his former patron, Katie (Katee Sackhoff, adored by science fiction lovers from the series Battlestar Galactica), recall. Because an agent, nicknamed The Ghost, is on a plane that has just taken off from Bangkok. Reyes is therefore responsible for going to protect the unknown, mercenaries also being on board to kill this ghost.
-The premise is therefore thin, but it is fun. The filmmaker James Madigan, of which this is the first feature film as director, has built a solid reputation by working on the special effects ofIron Man 2 and by directing the second team of productions such as Megalodon or Transformers: Awakening of animals. In order to ensure a maximum of effective fight scenes and a direction of energetic photography, he hired Matt Flannery, a name associated with that of Gareth Evans in the dazzling RAID – Redemption (Action enthusiasts who do not know how to rush on this jewel, visible on Netflix or Appletv).
Fight or Flight does not pretend to the titles mentioned, it is only a bloody entertainment and whose objective of amusement is amply achieved … while waiting for a suite, the door being wide open at the end of the feature film.
