The film of The fantastic 4: first steps Unveiled a little more, with deliciously kitsch posters inspired by collecting baseball cards.
Thunderbolts* Surprise everyone by closing phase 5 of the MCU with an almost suspicious honesty. And the film, without breaking the barrack, starts rather properly at the box office and saves the face of a Marvel which seemed (almost) in crisis. But it is indeed The fantastic 4: first steps who embodies the real kick -off of the suite. The 4F Matt Shakman version (which produced the whole series WandaVision) are expected at the turn to prepare Avengers : Doomsdaywith the promise to see Galactus and the silver surfer ravaging a fantasized new York, bathed in a retrofuturist aesthetic.
And to maintain this fervor, Marvel Studios has just drawn a new salvo of promotional images. For once, the House of Ideas has treated its effects, since it is a question of Vintage portraits, modeled on the aesthetics of baseball cards from the 60s. A clever wink to pop America from the golden age of comics, where the fantastic 4 were born.
The fantastic 4: Born in the USA
On these new posters, the actors wear outfits and poses directly out of another era, as if to remind us that The Fantastic 4 are the historical deans of the Marvel stable, Created in 1961 by Stan Lee and Jack Kirbylong before Tony Stark and his Avengers friends come to the screens.
-Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards alias Mr Fantastic) displays a relaxation of American sportsman, while Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm aka the invisible woman) appears nimbed with light and stars. Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm alias the human torch) and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm alias the thing) complete this set, the first brandishing a flame in his right hand and the second displaying an Olympian phlegm.

Unexpected little surprise: Marvel also granted to Robot herbie the honor of appearing on a fifth map. Note that a sixth poster was unveiled, in the form of a pocket of collecting cards, with the stylized silhouettes of the fantastic four.

With this retro aesthetic, both reassuring and deliberately dated, these images seem to make a promise: the one that the MCU wants again Create symbol and icon in a delirium pulp Assumed, rather than a simple alignment of punchlines and cameos. Finally, that’s what we want to believe.
To know if The fantastic 4: first steps will be the surprise that the MCU is desperately waiting to relaunch the enthusiasm of the public with new characters, it will be necessary Pay until July 23, 2025, the film’s release date in French theaters.
