Shot between Sète, Larzac and Montpellier, the film “Balle lost 3”, still directed by Guillaume Pierret and worn by Alban Lenoir, arrives on Netflix this Wednesday, May 7. A series-b of nervous and jubilant action that breaks everything in its path.
Forget “the waouh effect”, dear to the Marketes, but too soft for the occasion: with lost bullet 3, we are rather on the side of the “nanméoh” effect! Yes, it’s new. This is in any case what comes to mind when we see a huge Mercedes Brabus, catapulted from the cliff at the top of the Arabs ramp, in Sète, flatten all at the bottom on the Maréchal-Leclerc walk, not without having ricoche before on the side of the sea theater. In short: Nan, but, oh! ? ! Knowing that the stunning stunting comes late in the film, this is not the first time that we have felt this effect, far from it.
To tell the truth, we did not expect the third episode of the lost ball! Since the triumph on Netflix of the first installment (more than 37 million views in less than a month in June 2020), the saga imagined by the young director Guillaume Pierret, for and with the actor Casse-Cou-Cou Alban Lenoir, was indeed imposed as the new reference of the French action cinema. Thanks to such simple ingredients (finally, seen from our living room, huh!) As an effective: a breathtaking intrigue of thriller, immediately endearing characters, and chases, and combat with melee, and waterfalls made with a minimum of special effects and a maximum of breakage.
The whole thing is important, in an ordinarily daily setting: our famous “Nanméoh” effect is indeed due to the integration of these elements rather associated with American series-B cinema in an environment that could not be more French. An impact still multiplied for Occitania since it is here, it should be remembered, between Sète, Montpellier and the Causse du Larzac, that the saga was shot!
Brutal fights and crazy prosecution
But before returning to the effects, a stop on the plot: crack of self-enlisted mechanics in a special anti-go fast brigade, Lino (Alban Lenoir) saw his brother and his mentor die before his eyes by hand or the fault of Areski (Nicolas Duvauchelle), a rotten cop that has since disappeared from circulation. It turns out that he hidden at the bottom of a Germany forest (in real life, the Causse). But Resz (Gérard Lanvin), his former boss with the drug brigade, also corrupted to the bone, let go and commands his assassination. Areski then returns to France to settle his accounts with him. Obviously, he will find in his Lino route … to which the minions of Resz will also give a hard time (well, the forearm to break)!
-If the scenario (for which Guillaume Pierret still received the weight reinforcement from Caryl Ferey) remains basic, he returned to dramatic tension, after a second episode centered on action, and the return to the center of the plot of Areski gives the prologue of the lost ball lost 3, a new accent of Polar Hardboiled … Well, with already a good chase to motorcycles and an explosion of violence!
But the best is to come, and fairly quickly (because the rhythm never weakens): the film continues a three-way fight in a Montpellier tram, brutal, fast, choreographed in Hong Kong (with maximum readability and fluidity therefore), with a Dantesque chase in Montpellier. At this moment, the “nanméoh” effect is just as much due to the kinetic dinguerie of the sequence as to its geographic absurdity, which sees the Montcalm park giving on the Antigone district … and the circulation everywhere possible and fluid. Still, what adrenaline shoot!

Carried away by its momentum (we do not see any other explanation), the story is then transported in an abstract natural space, purely mythological (this Larzac that is also called-it is held-the “plateau”) for an insane confrontation between a cipped tow in Stalin organ, a more sticky helicopter than a mosquito and a noria of the Vilains who deserve crumpled.
It is then that we become aware of the true nature of the Lost Balle project: having fun with everything that contains your toy chest without any consideration than pleasure and, yes, dirty kid, break everything. And you know what: like kids, we want more, no, but, oh!
