Declared from the doctors of MotoGP, Miguel Oliveira will go back on his Yamaha Yzr-M1 of the Pramac stable this Friday, during the free tests of the Grand Prix de France, at Le Mans. Ready to go back to combat, the Portuguese pilot did not hide special sensations before his long -awaited return. After almost two months without piloting, following a left collarbone injury, Oliveira almost has the impression of being back on pre-season tests, which are usually held in much warmer regions than the Sarthe!
“The doctors told me that I was fit!” I can’t wait to come back to the handlebars, after almost two months without piloting. It’s almost strange to be here because we are not in pre-season but I have almost the feeling that is the case for me. I feel good, the only thing that I missed a lot was to pilot a motorcycle, I did not have the opportunity. I am fit, there is bound to be a little discomfort, but for the rest, everything is fine. I am sure that I will be at the start on Sunday unless something happens, I touch wood! »»
A different motorcycle but similar both
Yamaha being one of the brands that has the most concessions, due to his bad 2024 season, Miguel Oliveira knows that he will not find the same motorcycle in Argentina. A good thing for the pilot at n ° 88, who knows that he will have an advanced machine, at all levels. What are prudent before the first tests of this Friday, even if the Pramac stable will make sure to offer it a motorcycle which will not differently differently in terms of sensations.
-“The motorcycle is very different from the one I knew the last time. We have changed the chassis, the engine, and a few other settings on the suspensions and the shock absorbers. In terms of geometry, we will try to start with something similar to what I have known in Argentina. The motorcycle is very different, but in fact it is above all improved so I do not expect to have very different sensations Friday. »»
The recent performances of Fabio Quartararo (second of the Spanish Grand Prix in Jerez) obviously inflated the only Portuguese Grand Prix winner in the queen category. The Yamaha show beautiful skills according to weekends, and there is no reason for it to change in Le Mans: “It was incredible. We know that Fabio is fast in Jerez, but he has shown the full extent of his talent. It was really good. The other Yamahas were also fast, Jack Miller for example, even if he couldn’t put all end for a trick. Álex (Rins. Editor’s note) had to regain the pace after falling in the morning, it’s difficult. And Augusto (Fernández. Editor’s note), he did what he had to do! It was a good weekend for Yamaha. »»
