Upon returning from the locker room, Tunisia quickly equalized thanks, reviving the match. A first place for Morocco meant to face the second in group A (Egypt, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Zambia, Tanzania), while a second place would have opposed it to the second in group C.
Despite this equalization, the Atlas lion cubs intensified their efforts. The meeting remained disputed, the Moroccan defense showing itself solid in the face of Tunisian attempts. The decision was made at the end of the match: Smail Bakhty gave the advantage in Morocco in the 86ᵉ minute, before Jones El-Abdellaoui seals the victory in the 90ᵉ minute (3-1). Morocco thus finishes at the top of its group and will face the second in group A in the quarter -final.
