The Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, the European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, welcomed on Monday from the “excellent” current dynamic of bilateral relations between Spain and Morocco.
Speaking before the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Congress of Deputies, the head of Spanish diplomacy expressed his thanks in Morocco for his support during the electrical breakdown last week in Spain, a support which made it possible to quickly restore electric current in regions of the Iberian country.
Mr. Albares also highlighted the notable progress recorded in Moroccan-Spanish relations during the new phase initiated following the letter addressed by the president of the government, Pedro Sánchez, to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, in which he affirmed that the plan of autonomy for the Moroccan Sahara constitutes “the most serious, credible and realistic base” to achieve a solution to this regional conflict.
He also praised the “historic record” of 23 billion euros in trade between the two countries, energized by the roadmap agreed on April 7, 2022.
