The report underlines that 6.4 % of Moroccans live in a situation of multidimensional poverty, with an average rate of deprivation reaching 42 %, the level of lack to which these populations are exposed in several essential fields.
In terms of gender equality, Morocco appears in the fifth world group, that of countries registering the lowest levels of equity, with an overall score of 0.859.
Internationally, Iceland leads the IDH ranking, followed by Switzerland, Norway, Denmark and Germany. The last places are occupied by South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Somalia, Chad, Niger and Mali.
The 2025 edition emphasizes the transformations induced by artificial intelligence (AI) and their impact on human development. The report believes that if AI is progressing rapidly, human development is struggling to follow. Almost a third of those questioned around the world, regardless of their level of development, expect to see the IA intervene soon in the fields of education, health and labor.
The UNDP calls for integrating the adaptive potentials of artificial intelligence to strengthen education and health systems, while remaining vigilant in the face of the risks linked to biases and the protection of privacy. Finally, young people appear less concerned than generations older by the loss of control that could cause AI to their daily lives.
