This university was preceded by days “ open house », From April 21 to 24, dedicated to the communication and presentation of the association’s achievements in the field of popular education as well as its commitment to social struggles and popular movements.
The Printemps University was a space for expression of solidarity with the Palestinian people and the rejection of normalization. This theme was at the heart of the inaugural conference, held on Friday April 25 under the title: “ More solidarity with the Palestinian people against Zionism: intensions the fight against standardization ».
The opening conference brought together Mohamed Allouch, secretary general of the Union of the Palestinian workers’ struggle, Soumaya Bouabdellah, member of the BDS Morocco movement, as well as Younes El Haboussi of the Attac Maroc association.
Environ 100 participant·e·s attended the event, which has been a significant media moment. This is explained by the exceptional context that the Palestinian cause is going through, with the continuation of the genocidal war waged by Zionism in the Gaza Strip, and the protests of the Moroccan people against transit via the ports of Tangier and Casablanca of military equipment intended for the occupation army.
The University offered a space for the exchange of experiences and ideas through two workshops organized on Saturday, April 26, in which around 50 people participated. The atmosphere was marked there by a strong militant determination, stimulated by a significant presence of women – representing half of the participants·e·s – as well as by a dynamic participation of youth.
The first workshop was focused on supporting women’s struggles on the front line of popular movements in Morocco. He brought together representatives of the Hirak of Figuig against the privatization of oasis water resources, workers from the Sicomec factory for months against abusive dismissals and for their fundamental rights, as well as agricultural workers from Chtouka Aït Baha claiming better remuneration and the stability of employment. These are clear examples of the resistance of women in the face of neoliberal policies, and their resilience despite the repression.
The second workshop focused on the destruction of public services in the health and education sectors. It was held in the presence of representatives of the student movement·e·s in medicine, pharmacy and dental medicine, mobilized to defend the public, free and quality of medical training, as well as the coordination of teachers·e·s dit·e·s « contractual·the·s », In the fight against the contractualization system and for the defense of the public service.
The discussions highlighted the close link between normalization with Zionism and neoliberal policies. They underlined the need to unify the struggles against normalization and the mobilizations in the defense of public services, while working to develop a popular feminist movement organized and rooted in the struggles.
The closing session was devoted to the presentation of the conclusions of the discussion in the form of recommendations:
Fight against standardization
- Strengthen involvement in all forms of solidarity with the Palestinian people and rejection of normalization in all areas, highlighting the link with the various social struggles and popular movements in progress in our country.
- Extend the boycott campaigns of companies, institutions and other actors involved in support for the genocidal skill project and which take advantage of it (such as the Carrefour boycott campaign), and oppose academic, cultural and artistic normalization through campaigns and actions

Support for women’s struggles
- Create a space for coordination between the various women’s struggle experiences, and strengthen communication bridges as well as solidarity mechanisms (caravans, material support campaigns, etc.).
- Develop media campaigns dedicated to highlighting women’s struggles and expanding solidarity towards them in the press, on websites, social networks, etc.
- To face the ideological offensive against women through a popular education which aims to raise awareness of the roots of their oppression, to analyze the reality of their exploitation (eg domestic workers), and to propose targeted training on legal and other aspects.
- Assess all the popular movements marked by a strong female participation and work in militant coordination between them and with feminist organizations, while encouraging the most serious to be actively involved in the ongoing struggles.
- Develop a feminist movement rooted in society, and concrete feminist alternatives emanating from the base.
Resistance to the destruction of public services
- To be inspired by lessons from past struggles and work to share, whether it be claims, struggle management, negotiations or solidarity.
- Deconstruct the ideological offensive against public service, by inscribing it in the global logic of neoliberal privatization, through the generalization of popular education, the organization of formative meetings in certain regions, and the encouragement to create and diversify training spaces in working -class neighborhoods.
- Expand our claims in terms of public services (for example, access to drinking water or school transport services), forms of defense (struggle, legal action, etc.), as well as their strategic horizon (free, quality of public services, and implementation of popular control).
- Encourage all forms of networking between active coordination in the public sector (for example, common workshops between student coordinations·e·s in medicine and pharmacy, and those in the education sector).
