The Health delegation is made up of 82 members of medical staff, nurse and administrative, distributed among the members of the Delegation of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection (44) and the health services of the Royal Armed Forces (38).
These personnel are responsible for offering Moroccan pilgrims services ranging from prevention and awareness of medical care, in addition to monitoring cases requiring a stay in Saudi hospitals. On this occasion, Mr. Tahraoui urged the members of the delegation to show dedication, availability and benevolence to best serve pilgrims throughout the period of Hajj.
The health delegation is invested with a double mission, namely prevention and management, insisted the minister, adding that it is a question of raising awareness among pilgrims to prevent diseases, providing first aid to prevent complications, ensure patient monitoring and offer them psychological support during convalescence, in addition to a watch mission to monitor health risks and remedy it effectively. Mr. Tahraoui said, in this regard, that his department has mobilized all the human and logistical resources necessary to allow pilgrims to fulfill their rite in the best conditions and meet their needs throughout their stay in the holy places. For her part, the president of the health delegation responsible for the supervision of the Hajj season 1446/2025, regional director of health in Souss-Massa, Lamia Chakiri, reported the mobilization of competent human resources and large quantities of drugs in order to provide quality care and psychological support to Moroccan pilgrims.
The interventions of the delegation will mainly concern fixed health centers, noted Ms. Chakiri, adding that in parallel, health personnel will move to Saudi hospitals to ensure the support of Moroccan patients. Before their departure for the holy places, Moroccan pilgrims benefited from the necessary medical examinations and vaccines, provided by provincial health services, said the president of the delegation, adding that an electronic platform has been made available to them.
As part of its efforts to guarantee Hajj’s progress in the best conditions, the Ministry of Health and Social Protection has allocated large quantities of drugs and medical devices to take care of Moroccan pilgrims until their return to the kingdom.
In addition, all the essential supplies necessary for the operation of health centers in Mecca and Medina, whether fixed points or mobile teams, have been made available. Thus, 7 fixed points, two mobile teams, 4 transfer teams and an awareness team were appointed to support Moroccan pilgrims in the accomplishment of Hajj and to provide them with essential health care.
The ministry has also developed an application that allows real -time monitoring of Moroccan pilgrims throughout the Hajj period, the instantable notification of disease cases and the automated statistics management concerning pilgrims and their state of health. In addition, pilgrims will receive a biomedical kit containing measures to measure blood pressure, glucose and temperature levels, as well as protective equipment including masks and antiseptic gels.
