The president of the Morocco-Egypt Affairs Council, Mohamed Ali Tazi, called, on Sunday in Cairo, to the creation of an integrated and sustainable economic alliance between the two countries.
Far from wanting to conclude rapid affairs or circumstantial initiatives, it is a question of laying the foundations for a sustainable economic alliance, to create jobs, transmit knowledge and improve the competitiveness of industrial systems of the two countries, he said to the opening of the Egyptian-Moroccan investment and trade forum, marked by the participation of managers, economic actors and businessmen from the two countries.
Mr. Tazi pleaded in this regard for a concrete approach based on the construction of a common future, confidence, complementarity and long -term planning, believing that Morocco and Egypt, thanks to their geographic position and their modern infrastructure, and animated by a reformist vision of their respective leaders, have all the assets to impose themselves in complementary economic poles in sectors, The pharmaceutical industry, renewable energies, transport and logistics, or in the financial sector.
In his intervention during this forum, organized under the theme “A broad economic partnership”, Mr. Tazi stressed that more than a partner, Egypt also constitutes for the kingdom a strategic platform to open up in the markets of the Middle East and East Africa, at a time when Morocco represents a natural gateway to West Africa and Europe.
Likewise, he has expressed the hope of seeing this forum, which is held within the framework of the visit that in the Egyptian capital from 3 to 5 current, the Secretary of State for Foreign Trade Omar Hejira at the head of an economic delegation, mark the beginning of an institutionalized and structured process, through a joint support program for small and medium -sized enterprises, co -financing and special technical assistance.
It is also the creation of a Moroccan-Egyptian digital platform to exchange opportunities and promote fluid sectoral communication between economic actors and the organization of semi-annually meetings alternately in the two countries to assess the progress and implementation of agreed projects, he explained.
According to him, the stake is to erect the Morocco-Egypt Affairs Council as a single contact for actors in the private sector, in order to ensure the effective implementation of recommendations and investment support.
Mr. Tazi also emphasized the need to activate all the provisions provided for by the Agadir Agreement, which constitutes a promising regional framework for economic and commercial integration between the Member States, their heads Morocco and Egypt, which is likely to open up large opportunities for Moroccan exports and will strengthen the positioning of the Kingdom products both in regional and international markets.
The President of the Morocco-Egypt Affairs Council (Moroccan side) has emphasized the importance of building a new model of economic relations between the two countries, based on a mature and sustainable partnership and focused on the creation of common added value, and not only on the exchange of goods and services.
This forum is an opportunity for companies in the two countries to explore new perspectives in sectors with high investment potential and open up new opportunities for Moroccan exporters in order to access the Egyptian market, in addition to the signing of beneficial partnerships for both parties.
The event knows the participation of businessmen and Moroccan companies operating in various areas of export, in particular agriculture, the food and automotive industry, electricity, electronics, textiles, seafood, energy and renewable energies, pharmaceutical products, medical and paramedical products, cosmetics and construction.
Co-spored by Mr. Hejira and the Egyptian Minister of Investment and Commerce, Hassan El-Khatib, the forum has focused on the important potential for cooperation and complementarity between the two countries, capable of allowing them to open up partnerships with other African countries.
