The Liberal Moroccan Party (PML) called King Mohammed VI to intervene in an emergency to protect the inhabitants of Rabat, especially in the historical streets, against the offensive of “influential” and “real estate mafia”.
In a press release published at the end of an emergency meeting of its political bureau, the PML denounces the illegal appropriation of an adjacent building housing the law firm Isaac Charia, also secretary general of the party. According to this political training, “influential people” and the “real estate mafia” would take advantage of the organization of international events by Rabat to expel citizens from their homes and transform them into hotels or tourist establishments.

-The party asks the public prosecutor to open an in -depth investigation into the suspicions of corruption, money laundering and real estate mafia linked to the so -called “parliament building”. Also, he urges the local authorities and the elected authorities, represented by the municipality of Rabat, to open an urgent investigation into what it called “falsified reports”. According to him, the building of the Parliament would be threatened with collapse, while it shares the same foundations as the seat of the House of Representatives.

Finally, the party calls on the Ministry of Culture to intervene immediately to protect the intangible heritage of the city of Rabat against the assault of the real estate mafia, especially in the historic streets of the capital.
