P. Diddy made a remarkable appearance at the Manhattan Federal Court, after seven months spent in detention. A change of appearance drawn by the observers present.
The seven months spent behind bars visibly marked the face of P. Diddy. At 55, the father of seven children appeared on May 5 for the start of the selection of jurors, dressed in an authorized civilian outfit instead of the orange uniform of the prisoners. As a reminder, the latter is prosecuted for sexual trafficking, kidnapping, corruption, transport for prostitution and violence in the context of an organized criminal business. The trial, whose pleadings will start on May 12, is expected to extend over eight to ten weeks.
But while at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, where it is incarcerated, the hair dye is strictly prohibited, the founder of Bad Boy Records appeared changed: hair and a graying beard, this new appearance made him appear considerably weakened in the eyes of observers on the spot. “He seemed older, his hair was much white,” said Elizabeth Millner, a journalist for Law & Crime Network.

120 complaints
The Sean Combs trial – its real name – is one of the most anticipated of the year, splashing the music industry as few business has done in recent decades. Since November 2023, nearly 120 people have filed a complaint against him, accusations ranging from sexual assault and rape to meeting to domestic violence and sex trafficking.
Among the testimonies, that of the singer Cassie, former companion of P. Diddy. After having filed several complaints against him, the latter had ended up concluding an amicable arrangement, but intends to bring her version of the facts to the trial. Puff Daddy, who remains presumed innocent for the rest of the accusations, had denied any violent behavior towards her. However, in May 2024, a video broadcast by CNN caused an uproar. Filmed in Los Angeles in 2016, she shows the artist running after Cassie in a hotel, driving her in front of the elevators before dragging her to their room. Images of unbearable violence.
